Greeings,

Ah. I’m sipping some Plantation Mint tea right now. It’s part of my efforts to beautify my workplace and improve my sucky attitude.

At the moment all is pretty quiet here. Fuckalie is pounding away on her keyboard because, as usual, she can’t do anything quietly.

Pat has been moaning about having nothing to do and will someone please give her work because she feels guilty, but I inspected her filing folders and she’s woefully behind in that. Ergo, she’s just trying to make a name for herself as a hard worker. Perhaps she might even be digging at other secretaries she may consider don’t do a full day’s work. Whatever, I know my filing is up to date and hers isn’t. Eat me.

Mary Beth is gossiping about her daughter’s family to one of the attorneys who has that glazed look in his eyes of, “Oh, dear, how do I gracefully extricate myself from this? I only stopped in her cube to get a handful of peanuts.”

I am, of course, writing this entry, but I did my filing first so I could feel virtuous. And so it doesn’t get so far behind that I need a forklift to move it to my desk. I detest filing. And I’m a secretary. It’s like the Wookie Defense on South Park. This does not make sense.

But as Joey Tribiani said on “Friends” once, “You gotta do what you gotta do and I gotta do what I gotta do.” Such wisdom is rarely found on sitcoms.

My Pylon, the Dark Crescent, is entering Year Four this month. Hail the Dark Crescent! At the moment it is comprised of some of the most dedicated and inspirational Black Magicians in the Temple of Set. I think the Dark Crescent is the most potent magical thing I have ever helped to bring into being. Each new year brings with it new challenges, new faces, and new situations. May it ever be so.

I’m really starting to feel like it’s fall. The weather is definitely cooler, although still in the 80s. The sky has that autumn brightness to it. It’s pitch black when I get up in the morning and the sun doesn’t rise until I’m traveling down Tchoupitoulas Street heading for the bridge.

Oh, and I put away my $12 Target sandals in favor of socks and my zip up half boots. That’s always an indication of the change of season.

Every year I try to trace the path back into myself and figure out why fall attracts me so much.

Many people think it’s the season of death and dying, but I just see bright splashes of color, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and geese flying overhead in a V formation.

It’s a time to get all snug and cozy in your nest or home, and being a true earthy Taurus I have to admit that I love being all snug and cozy in my home. So there’s that.

There’s also Pier 1’s Harvest Spice candles. Nothing seems to herald fall for me more than smelling that scent.

I went into Pier 1 last weekend when I was shopping and stocked up Harvest Spice tealights. I also bought 6 votives. I originally bought a pack of 30 Harvest Spice tealights but when I was ringing up at the counter my total came to $21 and the saleslady said if I spent $25, I could get a coupon for $5 off. So I scooped up another 30 pack of Harvest Spice tealights. This will ensure that I have enough to last through Halloween and into November. Even beyond most likely, although I’ll try to use them all up by December 1st.

Darn, my tea is gone. And, coincidentally, I can’t think of anything else to write. Does inspiration come in liquid form? (What a loaded question that is!)

Anyway, we are one day closer to calendar fall, but since I have Harvest Spice candles in the house, the whole date thing is really just a technicality.

Until next time,

Olrun
