Monday, Oct. 13, 2003 - 4:40 p.m. Greetings, I am sitting in my brand-new cubicle in my brand-new job at the end of a brand-new day. And I promise I will not use the words “brand-new” again in this entry. First thing this morning I got email from Fatalie responding to a letter Mary Beth sent out letting the group I *used* to work for (ye gods how I love to type *used to*). She sent the following message to EVERYONE in my group – including the big bosses. OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In red letters in about 42 font. I sent this letter to the HR rep on my old floor and my old big boss wrote her a nasty letter telling her not to use company email as a forum for airing personal views. Her boss looks pretty stupid at this point. HR rep sent a letter to her about Fatalie. So I’m hoping Fassalie’s day was not very HAPPY! I hope it (and all those that follow for the rest of her miserable, horrible, minuscule, ridiculous, useless, wasted, bigoted life are CRAPPY!) But enough about people I don’t work with anymore. Hee. I cleaned up the new cubicle today and got welcoming email from several new team members and already I can tell this will be a low stress job. Somewhat low maintenance too, although I hope to change that by taking over more and more things as time goes on and I have some tenure. I was nervous driving to work this morning, but I’ll fine tomorrow. And the day after. After that too! Weekend Update: Nothing much really. I was here at work until 7 p.m. packing up and moving. Then Tommy and I went to Schwinn Pixie for the weekly shop. Arriving at 7:30, it wasn’t as packed as it normally is, so the shopping excursion went quickly. We were home by 8:30 and I took a lovely shower, but alas, I am out of lavender sugar scrub so I made due with some Avon Skin So Soft/ Soft & Sensual shower gel. It was raining, which was nice. It rained all day and night on Friday. I made Cheeseburger Macaroni Hamburger Helper when I got out of the shower and Tommy and I watched a couple of episodes of Twilight Zone by the pumpkin lights while we ate. Naturally, I consumed a couple bottles of hard cider. The last half bottle I took to bed with me, along with a library book. Saturday it rained off and on and was moody and grey and autumnal. I cleaned and read and prepared for caftaning. I soaked for at least an hour in a Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin scented bubble bath before donning the dreaded caftan and swirling out to the living room to light candles, incense and the pumpkin lights. We watched Bryan Ferry singing “Don’t Want to Know” on video for the first time ever at Crescentwood. I haven’t seen that video since January back before the fire. It was very surreal to watch it because I kept flashing back to the bedroom at Sinwood and sprawling across the bed watching this video. I think it’s going to take some time to get the visual of the bedroom at Sinwood out of my mind when I watch this. I remember I used to go in and rewind the tape to “Don’t Want to Know” as part of the pre-caftan ritual. And I’d set the box up on display and light the Star and Moon candles on top of the TV. before pressing play. Even Tommy was shooting strange looks at the television Saturday night. And he say, “Whew, that was *weird*!”afterwards. My Study is decked out for Halloween and I love watching the lava light illuminate the spider webbing on the altar while I rock in the rocking chair and talk to Ken. I made another “homemade” pizza for dinner and then we watched “The Night Stalker” on video for the main event. I have not seen that entire movie in years! YEARS! I laughed so hard during the scenes where Kolchek is driving his convertible down the Vegas strip with the 70s music going full speed. I pictured John lying on the floor of the Magazine apartment, cigarette going, cheese doodle bag half empty on the floor in front him, a bottle of peach flavored Boone’s clutched in his hand as he mocked the music by doing his own “John” version of it. Let’s just say “The Night Stalker” was not one of John’s favorite movies, but I think he got to enjoy it only so he could make fun of it. It was something of a John/Tom/Mina staple on Friday nights when we didn’t watch “House on Haunted Hill” or “Clue”. Well, I think I’ve said all I have to say for now except, I LOVE MY NEW JOB! Until next time, Olrun
