Greetings,

I sat outside on a bench for lunch this afternoon. I love taking late lunches because the noon hour rush is long past and everyone has that expectant “Is it 5 o’clock yet?” expression as they hurry by on late afternoon errands that have freed them, if even briefly, from the chains of their office cubicles.

I’m drinking a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and it’s damn good. I haven’t had one since February. Hard to believe, but true.

The first sip always reminds me of Connecticut and my old job. Dunkin’ Donuts coffee was a indulgence we were sometimes treated to by the court reporters.

I would also stop at the Dunkin’ Donuts by my house if I were working in New Britain instead of driving into Hartford – which I sometimes did.

So Dunkin’ Donuts coffee tastes like New England to me today.

The fifth season of “Friends” and “Time After Time” came in today. Don’t I feel bad about bitching about the USPS yesterday, huh? Eh. Not really.

Tonight Thomas and I are going watch Disk 1 in our lovely Crescentwood living room. Little Meow will probably curl up next to me and Stela will roam between my lap and Tom’s. Agatha will try to perch on the sofa arm but if I have any food or beverages on the side table I will have to chase her away. Pandora may make one of her more and more frequent lunges onto my lap. I don’t know what’s up with that girl, but she just wants to get up on the couch with us these days. I try to indulge her, but sometimes 17 pounds of cat is awfully inconvenient.

I’m still laughing about Halloween night when she snagged Bosley Bat’s purple and silver streamers and pulled him down off the light. And then her eyes blinking up from inside her cat carrier for the rest of the night.

Jaye and I have decided on a new night for dinner on the Westblank next week. Wednesday! And then we leave for Houston on Friday.

But I am ahead of myself. There’s still this coming weekend to enjoy. Friday night I’m making Hamburger Helper and watching either “Time After Time” or “The Night Strangler” and Saturday we’re caftaning and the Main Event will be whichever movie I did not watch the night before.

It’s lovely to have life so planned out in advance! Or something.

Until next time,

Olrun
