Greetings,

Ahhhhh. Blessed sleep. Blessed shower. Blessed clean clothes and perfume.

I was an adult last night and played The Sims only for about three hours or so. And then this morning I played for about an hour. But I got out the door relatively on time and find myself pretty bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning rather than dragging ass like I have been for the past couple days.

I may even stop blathering on about The Sims in my LJ entries soon. Save for perhaps a mention of “Played Sims this weekend”. You can always hope, I suppose. Or skip over my Sims-related babbling in the interim. Your choice.

The cats are rather up in arms lately because I cannot get to the fricking fracking store to get them their dry food and they have been living on canned cat food since Sunday. They love the canned food, but they feel (and perhaps rightly so) that there’s not enough of it. And what about their Grazing Privileges? What about when they cruise by the cat bowls around 2:30 in the afternoon just to munch a couple bites on their way to the litter box or to walk all over the counter? There’s nothing there but the ghost of the morning’s canned breakfast. This is just not how Crescentwood cats expect to be treated.

They did get a slice of bologna this morning on my way out the door since they looked so darn pitiful. Pandora scarfed hers down no problem. Stela kept trying to gnaw at hers, but was unclear on how to do this because she has a problem with flat food for some reason. Agatha tried to hook a piece in her paw and bring it to her mouth but was growing frustrated. Meow got hers on a napkin on the couch where she nibbled daintily. When I get home tonight they will be very demanding, you wait and see. And they will have bologna breath to top it all off.

We left around 5 p.m. last night and beat the parade home. I heard everyone laughing and clapping when it started but I was safely in SimsLand by that point and so I didn’t even get up to peer out my window. Sometimes I can see the floats going up Tchoupitoulas on their way to Napoleon. I don’t think they throw any beads until they turn up Napoleon, but it is fun to watch them glide by.

This weekend should be a whirlwind of activity. Friday I have to get my oil changed, go buy the cats (and us) some food at Schminn Pixie, get some cell phones at Cingular, hopefully go to the Museum to see the Egyptian exhibit and be home before 5 p.m. so the parades don’t box us away from Crescentwood.

Friday night I may watch a horror movie, but I think I’d rather play The Sims. Creepy, isn’t it, John? I’ll make them watch horror movies on their TV. though.

Ooo! I just had an idea for a Sims module – Haunted House Sims! Or Halloween Sims! YES! Somebody read this in my LJ and get on it. And send me money. Lots of it. (If this already exists somewhere, somebody tell me and then I will spend money to buy it!)

Saturday I must clean Crescentwood in preparation for Caftan Night. My friend Kristen will be joining us and staying the weekend. She’s working days in the Quarter through Mardi Gras and she’ll be attending Bacchus with us on Sunday night.

Monday and Tuesday – no plans except to not go to parades or Mardi Gras activities. I remember last year Tommy and I ate bologna and cheese sandwiches and drank Chek soda from the cooler in the kitchen where the refrigerator was marked to go.

Yes, it’s almost exactly a year to the day since we moved into Crescentwood! We had very little furniture when we moved in and so we sat on beach chairs and slept on an Aerobed and ate food from a cooler. It was such fun. And when our new bed and appliances arrived; it was the best day ever!

This Mardi Gras we will have a sofa to sit on, a table to eat off of, a bed to sleep in, and a refrigerator to raid if we are hungry. Oh, and a stove to cook on!

Well, I must get some work done so I can buy more Sims games!!!

Until next time,

Olrun
