Greetings,

Thomas has been at me to buy my own computer lately. I demur due to the cost factor and because right now my gorgeous new desk has a lovely Bast head, the Pylon egregore symbol and a candle right where a monitor would go and my magical journal and my tarot deck on the sliding keyboard holder. So, technically, I have no *room* for this PC.

But I suppose I should have faced the inevitable because when you a buy a new desk and your father sees a picture of it and doctors it with Photoshop to bear the caption: “Now all she needs is a PC”, well, the Universe seems to *want* me to have this PC.

First there was the Desk. Then there was the Sims. Then there were the myriad of projects that Thomas needs to do preventing me from playing the Sims.

Now there’s my incentive bonus and raise and (hopefully) tax refund.

It appears that I will have enough money to pay for our trip to San Francisco this summer AND to buy a $600 or so PC to play the Sims on. And I could also start writing again. Seriously writing. Which I haven’t seriously done in years. I might even try to break out of the “I can only write when I’m unhappy in life” paradigm.

At the very least I could play the Sims anytime I wanted. And I could do the Caftan Night schedules on my own PC. And I could write all my Workings on my own PC.

I had a PC for years, Marius, but he was old and decrepit and he was retired about two/three years ago to the back of a closet. He got to where he wouldn’t even play his screensaver and so he wasn’t even any good as a decorative paperweight anymore.

The other night I was musing over names for this new PC. Names! I think that was the kiss of death.

My as yet to be manifest PC’s name will be:

Hermione.

I was saving that name for a cat but then I remembered that I have four cats already and the next cat I get (and I’m not saying I’m getting one) will be a male and his name is going to be Wilbur for Wilbur Whately in The Dunwich Horror. And he might, just might, have a twin brother named Whitby (named for the town where Dracula’s ship landed and where Mina and Lucy met him in the graveyard.

But I digress majorly.

So, it appears that my PC Hermione might not actually be just a dream for me and a wish for Thomas. She may actually be a reality.

Of course, none of this money is my hands yet, so I’m still a bit ahead of myself.

But the Sims. Every night. In my own Study!

Until next time,

Olrun
