Thursday, Apr. 08, 2004 - 11:14 a.m.

Greetings,

I was shocked at myself last night, but I actually went to bed at 9:45 p.m. Incredible!

After work last night I picked Tom up and we went on a mini shopping spree which included almost everything I mentioned yesterday – the puppy pads, the Yankee car jar (Fresh Roses scent) and three votive candles (lavender – me, Storm Watch – Tom, Cucumber and cantaloupe – John) and the pillow, but also included the seeds of transformation for three rooms at Crescentwood; both bathrooms and the dining room.

At Linens-n-Things we discovered these lovely framed French perfume postcards. In addition to being framed, they also each have a little hook to hang things like bathrobes (or dare I say it – caftans) from. Mine is the orange mimosa print. The colors are a muted tangerine, lemon yellow and cream with black lettering. The lemon yellow of the flowers will be the hue of yellow I will paint my bathroom walls with.

Tommy got the violet print. As you may have guessed, the primary color is violet, but it also has grey and black. He wants to paint his walls violet and have black and grey towels and pick up a shower curtain with those colors as well. It’s very lovely.

For the dining room we ended up buying a gorgeous mantel clock on sale for 60 dollars. It’s English, but in the British West Indies plantation style. Light wood with floral vine carvings. Really nice and it makes our dining room mantle glow. Now I know what color wood I want for the new dining room table and chairs. And the general color wood for the eventual grandfather clock we’re getting for the room.

Tommy’s only lament is that the mantel clock does not chime, so at some point we’ll probably get one that does and this clock can be moved to a side table in the living room where it will look lovely.

I have visions of peach and yellow towels for my bathroom. Beautiful!

We were home by 7 or so and Meow gratefully received her shot and while Tommy fussed over the new mantel clock, I fired up the Sims.

Since I got a whopping 7 hours plus of sleep, I bounded out of bed this morning filled with energy. Yeah, right. But I did get up promptly at 5 a.m. so I fitted in about 40 minutes of Sims time.

Tonight we must repair to Schwinn Pixie to prepare for the weekend to come which will contain lots of quality nothing. The 7th season of Friends is winging its way towards me even as I type this and I’m hoping it gets here today or tomorrow. That would be some acceptable “nothing” say, Sunday afternoonish?

Must fly and do some work!

Until next time,

Olrun
