Greetings,

I forgot to bring a book to read yesterday over lunch, it was pouring out so I couldn’t walk or go to the library, so instead I was forced to go shopping. Forced, I tell you.

First stop was Lord & Taylor where I bought Thomas a reversible leather belt because the one he used to have was rather, um, worn and stretched and got to the point where there *was* no point in wearing the thing.

Next it was Macy’s where I prowled half heartedly for a new shower curtain to match my framed French perfume postcard that I’m basing my colors around. I say half hearted because usually there’s not much selection, or if there is, the curtain is immensely expensive and I can’t justify buying it since I’m fickle and my shower curtains don’t tend to last more than a year or two.

Well, I ended up hitting the mother lode of bathroom decorations. All on sale too. I found the perfect shower curtain – cotton. It’s a peachy orange color with tiny little boxes of lime green, hot pink, lemon yellow and sky blue. It matches the oranges, greens and yellows in the postcard to perfection.

Then I found a bathroom rug with all the colors plus white in it. A sort of boxy plaid which sounds awful but is actually quite lovely. With fringe!

For shower curtain hooks I discovered twelve little ceramic fish all in the same colors as the curtain. And then I found a hand towel with the yellow, the blue, the white, and the peach in it. Stripes and checks. Again sounds awful, but is actually lovely.

Total cost: 62 bucks.

During the frantic Friday cleanathon, I will be putting up the new stuff. Thomas and I also plan to buy paint soon and start painting the walls and the woodwork. Our bathrooms won’t know what hit them.

I imagine myself soaking in a tub surrounded by new colors. In the summer they will be vibrant and Caribbean. In the fall they will be harvest colors. In the spring they will be fresh and in the winter they will bring some color to a drab season.

All my new towels purchased during the Great Washing Machine Debacle also fit into this scheme. It’s going to be so PRETTY! ;)

That’s really all the news I have to relate, which isn’t much or very interesting except to me. I suppose when the bathroom is done I could take pictures and post them, but even that may not be really exciting, I suppose. But it would be good practice for me to take pictures and to figure out how to upload them to LJ. In theory.

I know it’s only Wednesday, but I really would like the weekend to roll around. Cleaning, caftaning, champagne, candles, the WORKS.

Meanwhile I sit here while it rains outside and have to do WORK. How did that happen?

Until next time,

Olrun
